The Mulligan Ministry
A golf-themed men's ministry of Grace Community Church
A Component Of The Minstry
How can playing golf be considered a ministry?
That's what you're thinking, right?
The Mulligan Ministry provides a unique opportunity for men who enjoy golf to view it in a different light.
This is accomplished in two ways:
1) The Mulligan Ministry promotes fellowship with men of the church With our busy schedules and four Sunday services to choose from at Grace, it can be tough for Christian men to find opportunities bond with other men of the church. The Mulligan Ministry invites men to come together, enjoy a sport, interact socially and talk shop with fellow golfers from Grace. The golf-course experience is a great way for men to get to know one another.
2) The Mulligan Ministry provides a non-threatening environment for men to witness It can be quite a challenge getting our unbelieving neighbors or family members to join us for a Sunday-morning worship session. The Mulligan Ministry's sponsored events allow for men to bring unchurched family members, friends and co-workers to a place where they may feel a little more comfortable. Hopefully, they will witness something beyond golf - something uniquely experienced between brothers in Christ -- Christian fellowship. Perhaps they will ask about the Grace community, or better yet, our faith in Jesus Christ!
Over the past year, the Mulligan Ministry sponsored three types of events:
1) Spring and Fall large-group, on course, best-ball scrambles that included enjoyable competition, breakfast, lunch and prizes.
2) A winter golf clinic held indoors featuring a message from PGA Chaplain Dave Krueger and professional golf instruction by Mammoth Golf's Gregg Stein.
3) Summer weekend scheduled tee times for individual and small group sign-up.
