Leader Development Resources

Initially all GRACE Group Leaders, Co-Leaders, Apprentices, and Candidates are asked to attend two half-day training workshops: (See Upcoming Events for Schedule)

"Shepherding a GRACE Group 101 - A Place to Belong"

where we look at how we can best create an environment that will foster community and make folks feel like they have connected in a meaningful way to those in their small group.

"Shepherding a GRACE Group 201 - A Place to Become"

where we explore what it means to be a mature Disciple of Christ. We talk about the steps we can personally take towards that goal as well as how we can best take those in our group along with us.

We hold Group Leader Workshops throughout the year that all small group leaders are encouraged to attend.

Grace Community Church's Spring Group Leaders Workshop

All of our small group leaders and potential leaders are coming together on Monday, March 31st - 6:30-9:00pm. This will be a night of fellowship, training , and learning from each other.

In addition we take advantage of national small group leader training opportunities when they are made available. This exposes our coaches and leaders to some of the best small group leadership training available in the world. Many of our leaders invest in their group by attending these conferneces.

"Wired" 2008 Saddleback Small Groups Conference

Many of our group leaders are headed to Southern California for Saddleback Church's Small Group Leader's Conference. (February 19th-23rd)

Small Group Coaches are being developed to work hand-in-hand with Small Group Leaders at Grace. Their role is as an encourager, a prayer partner, and an equiper for Small Group Leaders. Coaches and Leaders will interact together regularly to assure the success of each and every GRACE Group.

Leadership Development Training is a churchwide leadership program that explores the character and skills needed by every leader. This ongoing program is done alongside a coach who helps the leader to practically assess the application of each class to their own lives and ministries. This program includes at least six Monday nights/year and an ongoing relationship with a coach. We highly recommend that all small group leaders take advantage of Grace's Leadership Development Training Program.
